Hand Engraving

Every piece I engrave is done by hand, with a handheld pen engraver, never a laser. That choice matters. A machine produces a perfect, uniform line; a hand produces character. You can see the difference, and so will whoever receives it.

I engrave on glass, metal, stone, timber, and most plastics: wine bottles, decanters, hip flasks, jewellery, perfume bottles, trophies, pet tags, keepsake boxes. If you have something in mind that isn't on that list, ask. The answer is usually yes.

Finishes you can mix and match

Engraving can be left raw for a soft, frosted look, or filled with gold or silver leaf for contrast and shine. You can also combine the two - a gold-leafed outline with a frosted centre, for example, or silver lettering on a frosted background. We'll work out the right look for the piece together.

Make it sound like you

If you'd like the engraving to feel truly personal, I can replicate your own handwriting, or a loved one's. A signature, a note, a few words in someone's hand turned into something permanent. It's one of the most meaningful things I do.

Hand engraving suits weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, Valentine's Day, corporate gifts, christenings, retirements, anywhere a printed label would feel like it's missing something.
